For the past few months we have been talking about saving money, where we can cut back, and how we can bring in extra money if need be. Unfortunately, that's all its been is talk. We have also been living like I still work. This isn't entirely our fault being that I am still getting paid. Well, the whole getting paid and not working gig is coming to an end and the previous talking is back in full force. Don't get me wrong. Nothing can replace that I now get to stay home with Lila. BUT, you know... you get accustomed to certain things when you have a certain amount of money. Plus, we have a lot to save for.
No more Starbucks. No more Chick-fil-A. NO MORE TARGET.
That alone should save us my paycheck every month.
Just kidding! But seriously. I have discovered my own coffee and Seth will just have to deal with cereal. I typically walk into Target for toilet paper and come out like I won the lottery while I was in there...only, I didn't. So Target is completely off limits. I already only buy groceries at the farmer's market. The struggle here is where to go to buy things like toilet paper and shampoo and such. It has to be somewhere that does not have the ability to tempt me to buy clothes...or makeup...or really anything other than the necessary paper goods and toiletries. Any suggestions? I know, I know. Have some freaking self control is what you are thinking. Well, the next time you walk out of Target or somewhere similar with exactly what you went in for then we'll talk.
Watching Carson will help a little. We do have a side job that has become completely mine which helps a lot (that is for another post). The next goal at hand is starting an esty shop. I made most of the artwork in Lila's room, I am getting better at sewing, and I love all things crafty. Does that mean I'm good? Who knows. The only way to find that out is to see if anyone would buy the crap I make.
I have been thinking about starting an etsy shop for quite a while, but I have to admit I haven't because I am a big, huge chicken. It seems very daunting. This is incredibly silly because I could choose to sell two things and call it a shop. People do it all the time. I have really stupid high standards for myself sometimes so I have this sneaking suspicion that I am afraid it won't be good enough...for me that is. I'm not as concerned about the general public.
At any rate, here in the next few weeks as I make more things I am just going to have to bite the bullet. I am a firm believer that for anything to work it all starts with a fantastic name. It may sound like a small thing, but I am struggling with what to call my shop. Seth wants me to call it Turkey Treats (his nickname for me is turkey for a reason not even I am aware of). I ran this by the girls at girls weekend and got some blank stares. One person gave the constructive criticism that it sounds like I am selling food.
SO, if you come up with the perfect etsy shop name for me and I actually end up using it I will make you an item of your choosing (assuming I am capable of making it)....
....and GO!
I asked for a Christmas gift from etsy last year that I TOTALLY think you could make....I'll show it to you the next time I see you. Its a coupon organizer....
