ABOUT

Welcome! My name is Jana Burrow and I currently run a little household of five that includes myself, my dear husband Seth, our two little lovelies Lila and Evie, and our crazy lab Molly.

I have a background in Child and Family Development and Early Childhood Education. I did an extensive internship in the field of Child Life where I learned the true meaning of how short life can be. Right out of college I then helped create amazing wishes for terminally ill children through a wish foundation. A few years and a Master's degree later I then spent three years teaching second graders things like the phases of the moon, addition and subtraction facts, and how to write a story that they could feel passionate about.

Mom is my job. If you are a mother you're aware that the word "mom" doesn't really cover the scope of the job. The title encompasses everything from teacher to maid. One would think all of the above experience and education, along with endless hours of babysitting and nannying, would prepare me for motherhood. If you stick around and become a reader of this blog you will quickly learn that even the most skilled in such areas as child rearing, educating, and nurturing are humbled by the magnitude of what it means to be a mother.

This blog is essentially my diary and my dream of being a writer all rolled into one. I love being a mother. I loved being a teacher. Those are dreams I have achieved. However, writing has been a part of who I am from the minute I put pencil to paper. I truly believe in the power of words to give life to a lyric, soul to a story, and a voice to a community. From the bottom of my heart I want to say thank you for stopping by. I hope that maybe in some small way you found what you were looking for. Or, at the very least, I hope you had a good laugh (or cry). Please don't hesitate to comment or send a message. I'd love nothing more than to hear from you!
