All the Single Babies!! Funny Baby Dances To Beyonce Single Ladies!!

Lila will be schooled on how to do "All the Single Babies" when she can stand/walk/bust a move. Until then, this will have to do....I'm sure you've seen it, but I just cannot get enough. It's not quite at the level of "I love Jesus, but I drink a little" but it is getting dangerously close.

Remembering Joseph

I was totally unaware that Joseph was writing a blog while in Iraq. I'm not sure if Seth was/is reading it, but I am now. It's linked under the blogs on this page now too. I also tried finding a good poem for fallen soldiers, but then found this one on Joseph's Facebook page. His page is now being used as a way for people to send wishes to his family and tell how they knew him and how they are feeling. I am feeling sad for my husband and his family. I wish I could hug them all and that would make it better. Instead, I will try to find meaningful ways to remember the amazing person he was.

"Invictus"
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate;
I am the captain of my soul.

Catching up

Ok, so here goes my attempt to catch you up on our lives since they are so exciting:

1) I almost had a heart attack last week because I thought I was going to have to move schools. I got an email and didn't read the whole thing before I had a mini-meltdown. Instead of laying off teachers they are just overcrowding classrooms and shifting teachers around instead of hiring new ones. This means many changes, none of which have affected me directly....yet. Crisis averted for now.

2) We went to our first football party with Lila. Thank goodness it was at Vince and Patty's house so we could go lay in their bed when Lila needed a break. It was much fun. Lila is incredibly blessed to be surrounded by people who find her to be as entertaining as we do.

3) The runaway caterpillar "must have escaped" (is what I told the class - did they believe me? doubt it). We named the three remaining...they are Sporty, Speckles, and Rosa per a class nomination of names and voting. Last year's were funnier, but these are pretty cute/random.

4) Lila has officially discovered Molly - for real this time. Woody still hasn't made his debut in a video yet. Pardon my extreme aversion to Molly licking Lila. It grosses me out if you can't tell. Lila has also developed a gift for swimming at a young age. Ok, not really. But the bath video shows potential right?

Too much to tell

It's been a busy couple of weeks and there is so much to talk about. I am kind of behind. The problem is, it all pales in comparison to the incredible loss we have experienced this week. Seth's cousin, Joseph Helton, was killed in Iraq yesterday. If you read this blog please keep Seth and his family in your prayers and thoughts. It's overwhelming and deeply saddening news. I know it's hard to come across anyone these days who doesn't know someone or have a close loved one or friend that is in Iraq. Whoever you know or love that may be there, be sure you tell them how much it means to you that they are protecting you. Even if you don't agree with what is going on, show your appreciation for the freedoms you have because of people like Joseph.
